Hearing protection

Hearing protection guards your hearing against noise from machinery, tools and engines. Here you will find passive ear defenders, electronic ear defenders and earplugs. The electronic models can let ambient sound through, and some have Bluetooth or a communication function. For use with a helmet there are helmet attachments, and headbands are available as spare parts. Choose according to the noise level and the task: earplugs are light and fit under a visor and helmet, while ear defenders are quick to put on and take off. Use them every time you are in the noise, not just some of the time. Choose hearing protection that seals tightly and can be used together with glasses, a helmet and a visor, and check regularly that the ear cushions and headband are in good order. If the whole team needs hearing protection, you can order through a business account. For helmets there are helmets and accessories, and for eye protection safety glasses.

Frequently asked questions

When should you use hearing protection?

From 80 dB(A) the employer must make hearing protection available, and from 85 dB(A) it must be worn. As a rule of thumb, you have to shout to be heard at 85 dB.

What is the difference between passive and electronic ear defenders?

Passive ear defenders reduce the noise. Electronic ear defenders also reduce it, but can let speech and ambient sound through, and some can stream audio or be used for communication.
